10 Of THE BEST Quotes To Bolster Your Independent BADASS

Looking For A Little Inspo That Brings Out Your Badass Self? Well, Here You Go!

There once was a day that women would revel in the little words of wisdom that came from the tab of a tea bag. Truth be told, I probably have a few of those babies tucked away in old jewelry boxes! They were once great ways to receive a little vote of confidence every now and again. And wasn’t it funny how the words so often aligned with where you were in life at that moment and what you “needed to hear.”

Of course, in today’s world we have a vast array of options when it comes to finding inspiration. With just about everyone on the planet wearing their everything on their sleeve for the delight of social media to memes and boards posted regularly featuring inspirational quotes from some of the most powerful women to have walked the earth, there really is no shortage of quotes related to the confident, independent female.

I have personally been impacted by the words of these women in my own life. There have been times where my most courageous act of the day has been to continually remind myself that “this too shall pass” and simply choose to believe that it’s the difficult times that help mold us. I have held onto the words of successful women who have come before me for a piece of good news knowing that if they could do it then surely so could I. The pressure would be great, but I could allow it to mold me as it had molded them.

Not different than the natural formation of a diamond. No wonder they are a girl’s best friend…

At the end of the day, you are ultimately your very own heroine of your life. No one is going to come and save you! No one is going to hold your feet to the fire when the pressure is on. The belief that you employ in your own inner strength is the only way that you will truly be able to step bravely in the direction of your dreams. Employing the emotional connection at the highest level that’s necessary in order to create your truth – THAT belief.

Sometimes that belief whispers, “The best version of you already exists. She’s just playing hide-and-go-seek. Now you’re IT!”

Sometimes that belief ROARS, “GET THE F*CK BACK UP! THIS IS NOT OVER!”

Other times, we simply find comfort and solace in the fact that we are doing our best with the resources that we have available. In any instance, isn’t it nice to be inspired by a strong independent woman that has come before?

A strong woman loves to be surrounded by other strong women. No matter if they are in her personal inner circle or if they are important historical or celebrity figures – independent women quotes ROCK SOCKS to read and become inspired by! They help to bring out that Inner BADASS that we all have hiding inside.

Below are some of my personal favorites. They are in no particular order, BUT the first one is my ALL TIME FAVORITE…

“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

This one – in my most humble opinion – packs a MASSIVE punch!

All too often, we fall victim to others, but where or to whom we fall can be shocking. It’s actually within US. Somehow, we trip upon the belief that others have the power to “make” us feel things. That is simply a false narrative. No one actually holds any sort of power such as that over anyone. All that happens is we allow our own stinkin’ thinkin’ to take over when we happen to be in an emotional snafu.

It happens!

However, feeling inferior to another is simply great information. All it means is that on whatever subject – be it knowledge that someone has or the way they present themselves or the way that they look – you feel less than that. Acknowledging it is important because it wouldn’t come across your radar if it weren’t something that needs attention. However, YOU are the only one in charge of that thought! If it’s a crappy feeling, that just goes to show you where you stand on the subject in your self-conscious awareness is NOT where your Superconscious Self views you, so do the hokey-pokey and turn that crap thinking around!

“A wise woman wishes to be no one’s enemy; A wise woman refuses to be anyone’s victim.” – Maya Angelou

This quote is an absolute favorite. It has always been my belief that intention is everything. It’s right up there with attitude!

At one point in my life I was a Corrections Officer who had the honor to work with and be trained by a most amazing Training Sergeant. During my initial training, he bestowed upon us several nuggets that I have held to this day, but one stands out above the rest. He said that people do things one of four ways – they do the right thing for the right reason, the right thing for the wrong reason, the wrong thing for the right reason, and the wrong thing for the wrong reason.

Wow. Integrity and intention. I was mind-blown.

Sometimes mistakes are made, but if you have done either the right thing for the right reason or the wrong thing FOR THE RIGHT REASON then you wish to be no one’s enemy, nor do you get wrapped up in being anyone’s victim.

Today, if I am met with resistance from another I will confidently ask, “And what was your intention with that statement/question?” This hopefully makes the other person think AND realize – they won’t find a victim here.

“Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence.” – Helen Keller

Please, please, PLEASE let this quote sink in and sink in DEEP.

Being optimistic, having faith, bearing hope, and being confident – all of this is 110% an inside job. There is NOTHING outside of you (except perhaps maybe this quote) that maps out each stepping stone to success. Any successful woman will tell you that she had to employ all of these things before stepping forward with courage.

Think for a moment what it would be like if little girls (and boys!) were raised to understand this. This one quote makes Helen Keller THE role model for the youth of our world.

“Being FEARLESS isn’t being 100% not FEARFUL, it’s being terrified but you jump anyway…” – Taylor Swift

Now here’s a modern day icon doing what she does best… EMPOWER.

Going again back to my former Training Sergeant – “F.E.A.R. stands for one of two things: Fear Everything And Run or Face Everything And Rise.” This exact polarity is what I help my clients decypher and ultimately come to understand. There is ALWAYS a choice, but allowing fear – the kind that makes you want to run – is simply an invisible barrier IF you see what is possible on the other side.

The feeling of fear is based on logic and past experience. It comes from the primordial part of our brain that keeps us from walking off the cliff. Fear regarding any subject has served us well at some point, but most of the time it truly just needs to be plowed through! True strength is when someone holds the creative tension toward their very own desired reality, feels the fear, and takes the action regardless. And this fearless woman? She’s proven time and time again – she’s an EXPERT.

“Create the highest, grandest vision possible for your life because you become what you believe.” – Oprah Winfrey

This incredible woman… That’s not an opinion. It’s sheer observation.

Oprah Winfrey is one powerful woman. Her power begins and ends with her and she knows it. She holds the key – the secret to all success. You MUST be willing to use your imagination to create the “You” that you wish to become. There are no arguments to be had here. Zero. If you were to take this one quote and focus on it, believe it with your whole heart, and then take action imagining that version of yourself, magic would happen.

This, hands down, is one of the most powerful quotes ever to be shared.

“If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one.” – Dolly Parton

This one’s super easy! Read it again… And again. One more time.

‘Nough said!

If you don’t like where you are you have a choice ESPECIALLY if you think you don’t. The only thing standing in your way is you! Like it or not, it really is what it is. No one is going to show up and pave your road for you. You can either keep walking and continue to get the same results or you can spend the very same amount of energy having fun creating (paving) another one.

It has always seemed that from day one Dolly Parton marched to the beat of her very own drum. She never seemed to require anyone to march to the same tune, but boy oh boy has she ever enjoyed those who appreciated her rhythm! Hats off to this amazing trailblazer.

“If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun.” – Katharine Hepburn

Heck yah! Katharine Hepburn is the kind of woman I could definitely lock arms with and start a movement toward taking time out to have FUN.

Yes. I totally understand that rules are created for a reason, BUT if we all colored inside the lines not much would be new and different, and my goodness, we would all be bored to death! Being the rebel is BADASS in and of itself. It says that you make your own rules. Only you know the best way to offset the “hard work” associated with success is to sprinkle a little fun in there, right?

“A champion is afraid of losing. Everyone else is afraid of winning.” – Billie Jean King

When I first launched into doing my own thing, this one hit me HARD.

I always strived to the very best at whatever I did. Being “competitive” did not jive with me, although I can see where others could come to the conclusion that I was. However, doing my very best and not being afraid to outshine others did not come easy to me. In fact, it took a LONG TIME for me to stop feeling like a broken little girl, too afraid to let her light flood the dark. I dumbed myself down for what seems like most of my life just so that I could feel like I fit in.

It wasn’t until I found a tribe where it was actually a good thing to be your best, sound your best, look your best, etc. It was never a requirement, yet being one of the prettiest girls, fastest girls, smartest girls – all of it was celebrated! When it came to building my business though… I had no fear of losing because I had expected that I would. What I didn’t expect was that I would have an outright adversity to winning.

Fortunately, with the help of a personal coach, I was able to observe this about myself and turn it around. I learned a tremendous amount about myself and now have no problem seeing life as a game and being the champion I’ve always strived to be. I love my Inner BADASS!

“Nothing is impossible. The word itself says ‘I’m Possible.’” – Audrey Hepburn

If I had a nickel for every time I have shared this with someone and watched their eyes turn into saucers.

I LOVE showing others this quote. It literally blows people’s minds!

Listen. Rather than coming up with a list of all things that are impossible just so that you can prove this lovely lady wrong, be a different kind of BADASS and make the shift. NOTHING is impossible if you employ the capacity to think it. If it’s already cued up in your thought bank then guess what? It’s waiting for you somewhere in the ethers. And if you take your very own BADASS up one more level and you spend time literally being that which you imagine becoming, then it will ultimately be inevitable that you achieve that which you deemed I’MPOSSIBLE.

Be careful what you wish for! Your Inner BADASS may be waiting with bated breath to emerge…

“Nothing in life is to be feared; it is only to be understood.” – Marie Curie

And to cap it all off I choose a woman I find MOST inspirational and a TOTAL BADASS…

I feel this quote deeply, especially about topics such as death. I find topics that are so difficult – virtually impossible – to explain completely fascinating. Since I have moved from judging my world to a total observer, this method of belief serves me at an even higher level. I fear less and less every single day and that’s saying a lot seeing that I spent most of my life dealing with extraordinary levels of anxiety.

I feared just about everything and then used a tremendous amount of energy masking that. Once I moved from becoming emotionally attached to the world around me, I became so much better able to just sit in the present moment and observe – no conclusions to come to, no problems that need to be solved. All became something that deserved to be understood rather than judged or feared.

So, our two-time Nobel Prize winner, Marie Curie, said it the very best! Moving toward coming to an understanding rather than acting out of fear is something everyone should aspire to at least give a good college-try to accomplishing!

Boy oh boy would I love to get all these amazing women in one room just one time. Can you imagine what the conversations would be? All that tremendous heart, that incredible power, all in one room! I, for one, would be in my own personal heaven.

We are so very fortunate to have more and more inspirational, independent women joining these ranks on a daily basis. More and more women are stepping up to the plate, are taking their first swing, and are LOVING it. Giving yourself the chance and going after the opportunity to create the very best version of yourself is a massive accomplishment in and of itself.

You are worth the effort.

You belong among the stars.

You’re totally capable of achieving anything your heart desires – in fact what your heart desires already exists for you.
