Or Is The Real Question, “Which Feather Is Best for Dumbo?” – Do These Beauties Of The Earth Really Work? Let’s Find Out!

Ok, so raise your hand if you are starting out on a spiritual journey.

Perhaps you are going through difficult times and are looking for some positive energy.

Maybe you’re thinking you should do something a bit unconventional to bolster that inner strength.

It’s extremely common to turn to guides to give you advice on the best crystals out there to zap negative energy and boost that personal power.  It’s been proven that everything has some capacity to hold energy – some things more so than others.  Of course, things that come from our earth such as rocks and crystals hold it, but do they do so with intention? After all, isn’t that what is needed here in order for them to have any sort of impact?  Hmmmm…

The Seven Main Chakra Points

People have been using crystals, gems, and rocks for centuries in rituals of all kinds.  As of late, popular focus has been placed on the energetic system known as the chakras.  The main chakra system is made up of seven points that run along the torso.  Each point also has a color that is associated with it.  Here’s some basic information on each:

Beginning at the base of the spine at the pelvic floor, we have the root chakra.  The color associated with the root chakra is red and it is your hub for feeling safe and secure in the world. More specifically, it’s all about our physical body and material needs.

Moving up the body, the next point is the sacral chakra. The color associated with the sacral chakra is orange and it is located in your abdomen area.  This chakra is deeply connected with your “second brain”, your microbiome, and is directly associated with your feelings and emotions.

Continuing up the body along the spine is the solar plexus chakra.  The color associated with the solar plexus chakra is yellow.  It’s located below the ribs and just above the naval.  The solar plexus chakra is all about personal power, resilience, transformation, and motivation.  In other words, it’s all about having courage and confidence!

Up a little higher is the heart chakra.  The color associated with the heart chakra is green.  It is located in the very center of your heart space in your chest.  A cool thing about the heart chakra is that your arms and ultimately your hands (specifically the palms) are extensions of the heart chakra.  Consider a hug – your heart space comes in contact with another’s heart space and the hands traditionally wrap around to the back and both palms come in contact with the space located directly across from the heart space in the front. This is the perfect connection and could very well be why hugs feel so therapeutic.   Anyhow, the heart chakra is associated with connection, bonding, relationships, and love.

Further on up is the throat chakra.  The color associated with the throat chakra is blue.  The throat chakra spans the throat, neck, and the upper shoulders.  It’s all about communication with this chakra, as it is where our voice comes from.

Higher still is the third eye chakra. The color associated with the third eye chakra is violet.  The third eye chakra is all about brain activity as it is directly connected with the pituitary gland.  It’s also all about self-perception, how one sees themself in the world.

The seventh and final main point is the crown chakra.  The color associated with the crown chakra is white.  The crown chakra is located at the top and center of the skull, and expands up and out in the shape of a cone.  It is directly associated with the pineal gland and is said to be associated with three main body systems – the muscles, the skeleton, and the skin. This chakra is said to be the entry point for the human life force and is directly associated with the feeling of “oneness” and mystical experiences.

S.O.S!  Can Beautiful Gemstones Actually HELP?

Well… they certainly can’t HURT!

The better questions are “What do I WANT to feel?” and “How can I begin to feel that now?”

Anyone know why Dumbo was brought into all of this?  In case you are not familiar with this “fictional” story, Dumbo is a baby elephant born with extraordinarily large ears.  He was picked on – yes, Dumbo was bullied – and he became emotionally wounded by all the horrible remarks.  He was an outcast until one day he used his oversized ears to fly and ultimately save the day, however during his flying excursions he held one item – an item that a friend told him made him have the “magical power” of flight.  This item was a feather and with it Dumbo was a superstar sensation.  But without it, well, he was just plain Dumbo (the outcast version).

I won’t spoil the entire storyline, so suffice it to say, Dumbo BELIEVED that he NEEDED the feather that he held onto firmly with his trunk in order to fly and be all that he ever wanted to be.  But was it the TRUTH?  Was the feather truly REQUIRED for him to perform this miraculous act?

Nope.

As adults watching a child’s movie we can say that it’s silly for Dumbo to require a feather in order to have the ability to “fly,” right?

So why do we think ANYTHING outside of us can make us perform magical miracles?

This is a valuable lesson.  The fact that we believe that we need “powerful tools” outside of us to boost our abilities and confidence level inside of us is, well, silly!

Getting down to the brass tacks of it, do the crystals, stones, essential oils, cards, runes, rituals, etc. actually work?  The answer here is “maybe” at best.

Can they help?  Just like Dumbo – if you BELIEVE that they help then – in your own mind – they can.  However, that belief only lies within you.  The actual action that is taken, tied with the outcome of achievement is ALL YOU!  Nothing outside of you can be the reason for your outcome.  You already employ anything and everything you need within you.

Taking all of that into consideration, the belief in the “power” of and the use of crystals as a means to bolster self confidence, mental clarity, self love, and inner power and the like is undeniably popular.  The following crystals and stones have been identified over decades (perhaps even centuries!) to provide assistance with daily life and boost one’s energy field.

Finding Stones And Crystals To Boost Confidence And Courage

At the beginning of my journey to tune into my true nature and purpose, I was put on the path of using gems, stones, and crystals to assist with negative energies, negative thoughts, and experiencing personal growth.  This was not odd or weird to me because I had a serious adoration and love for these natural beauties ever since I could remember.  I spent my childhood collecting, admiring, and appreciating stones, rocks, and crystals as they were found in abundance where I grew up.

As an adult, I came to connect with “spiritual” shops, full of baskets containing beautifully polished and raw versions of these beauties found all over the world.  Every shop owner I would encounter would make recommendations and put me on the path of making a good choice, choosing from the most powerful crystals they had to offer.

What I came to know and understand was that there were indeed crystals and stones that I would simply move right past while others seemed to call my name.  As you can imagine, this is all very personal.  As I grew in my journey, I came to combine my knowledge and understanding of the chakra system to help me choose these beautiful additions to the enhancement of my energetic field.  I mainly accomplished this through the basic visual representation of color.  From there, I would then work with the shop owner to identify characteristics and qualities of the various stones to help me make my choices.  Again, I cannot stress enough that nothing outside of us is responsible for our successes or failures – all of that comes from within.  However, just as a couture dress or favorite pair of jeans can help you feel AMAZING, so can these little gems.

So, taking into consideration what was said before about the chakra system and the aligned colors of each chakra, let’s dive into some choices to assist with choosing according to the energetic biology of YOU!  These are just a few options per chakra point – I encourage you to find a shop that has good, clean, positive energy (if you step into one that gives you the willies give yourself permission to TURN AROUND and step right back out) and interact with the stones to see what’s best for you.  There are literally THOUSANDS of options!

Again, these are just a minute sample of what is available to you.  I found them wonderfully comforting when I began my journey, but just as Dumbo came to find that his feather was not necessary for him to be successful, the same holds true for these magnificent beauties.  It’s always nice to have something to help through difficult situations or to assist with moving from a comfort zone, but please know that YOU are where the power begins and ends.  Being in the present moment, subscribing to and believing in ideologies that promote positive thinking, and taking inspired action toward new pathways that encourage the self-fulfilling prophecy of personal growth and even rehabilitation is all within YOU.

YOU are your very own stone of motivation.

YOU are an excellent stone of courage.

YOU are the energizing stone of added wisdom and strength.

YOU are the excellent crystal of confidence.

As you stand solid as your very own stone of strength you are a statue of beauty and poise – one for the history books!  So get out there and make it happen!

  1. So am I attracted to a stone because of a perceived weakness and need in myself or because of a strength?

Ooooh… what an awesome question for which YOU hold the answer! Both possibilities exist and you get to choose. How you feel is everything, so from which perspective – weakness or strength – would best serve your desired reality or end result?
